Time-Consuming and Error-Generating Sample Preparation: A Thing of the Past

In a typical chromatographical analysis, the most time-consuming step is, by far, sample preparation. It is estimated that 61% of the time is consumed by it, while data management, data collection and data analysis respectively make up 27%, 6% and 6% of the time.1

Consequently, sample preparation is the step that generates the most errors during a chromatographical analysis1. The below pie chart demonstrates it:

One company has however tackled both problems at once: the PAL System robots are both fast and make errors a thing of the past! This ingenious sample handling system is ultra-versatile to suit the specific needs of laboratories and over 50,000 users around the world have opted for this solution.

The PAL System robots are divided in two categories: PAL RSI and PAL RTC.

The PAL RTC (one possible configuration)

The PAL RSI, called the Workhorse, permits to have many different modules on the system and offers a cost-effective solution for laboratories. The PAL RTC, however, offers a completely unattended 24/7 sample preparation thanks to its Robotic Tool Change. The PAL RSI can be converted into a PAL RTC if the laboratory’s needs change over time.

Here are some of the tools you can get on a PAL System:

  • Liquid injection for GC and LC
  • Gas injection
  • Liquid addition
  • Headspace sampling
  • Incubation (35-200°C)
  • Vortex mixing
  • Dilution
  • Standard addition
  • Solid phase extraction (SPE)

As the official Canadian distributor of the PAL System, we can offer a tailored solution with the tools you need for your applications.
